What exactly is transformation? It is certainly the hippest and hottest topics in architecture today. An industrial hall will be an office, a school transforms into a home and so on. It even goes so far that we actually are not longer allowed to build new objects but should transform existing objects! Transformation can also be dynamic architecture, a new building or object that adapts to its environment.

’s – Hertogenbosch, what are you missing? More and more young people and tourists are visiting the city. More increased collaboration between the schools, such as art academies and fashion academies etc. The city is getting bigger, more shops. What’s the problem? Too few cheap sleeping places and possibilities to have a proper meal. I see an opportunity!

In the Sint Jorisstraat, not far from the center of the city and near a university, there is an old property located, which has had many functions. A car garage, saddlery and exhibition space. The ultimate location!

A good mix of eating / sleeping / watching (expo) is very suitable for this location. Different spaces traveling through the building. The transparency, that connects many directions with each other and brings co-operation. It is a stream from the front to the back in which the OPACITY places the emphasis on the materials and thereby, the context will get a certain relationship with the elements.

A cohesion with the space, elements and user.
